Episode 14 of the second series was broadcast on 29 April 1952 – find it in the Radio Times here.
Incidentally, this is the FA Cup Final edition of the magazine, even though the Football Association for some reason decided not to let the BBC show the match between Arsenal and Newcastle United on television. (I think there was a period in which the football authorities worried that no one would go to games if they were freely available on TV. They'd obviously not envisaged having to listen to Andy Townsend as a pundit.)
Instead BBC radio provided updates on the first half and full commentary on the second half on the Light Programme. I mention this only because it involves Arsenal, my team, although I’d rather not mention the score…
More recommended watching today. For fans of Peter Sellers, I recommend taking some time to watch this three-part in-depth documentary compiled by BBC2 and broadcast (according to the title on YouTube) in 1995, 15 years after his death in 1980.
